6 Health Tips For College Students On A Budget

College is already quite stressful when it comes to doing well in your academics, but it also can get pretty stressful when trying to monitor your health. Here are some ways you can save money and stay healthy while getting your education.

1. Keep healthy snacks in your dorm

Whenever you're hungry, you'll grab whatever's easiest to access. Make sure that you keep healthier snacks in your room, like vegetables or protein bars, rather than junk food like chips or cookies.

2. Don’t skip breakfast

Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day for a reason. Breakfast allows for your body to jump start its metabolism. Eating in the morning has also been shown to boost your brain activity, which is real useful for those tough college classes you’ll have throughout the day

3. Use your campus gym

Many colleges offer a gym for their students to use. Make use of this! Gym memberships can get pricey, having free access to a gym nearby is a great opportunity to get active while saving money.

4. Stay hydrated

Staying hydrated has a lot of benefits on your health, and can keep you feeling good throughout the day. Make sure to get in at least 8 glasses of water in daily.

5. Workout in the mornings

Classes take up the majority of your day, so try waking up just a little bit earlier to get the gym. Working out first thing can also get you energized and feeling good for the rest of your day.

6. Set a strict bedtime

Try your best to get to bed at the same time every day. Consistency in your sleep schedule allows your body to get the right amount of rest. Try planning how you'll tackle your assignments as early as possible to avoid procrastinating and pulling all nighters.
