After pointing out the importance of community and weight-loss we have decided to host a support group. This group will meet weekly on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm. The purpose of the group is to foster community. We want to give people losing weight a home to express their experiences. We want this group to be a place people share the trials and tribulations of their weight-loss journey.
The group is open to anyone currently on the weight-loss journey. The first few meetings will be facilitated by a health care professional. Once a sense of community is created, meetings will be 100% peer run. We seek to empower people to share their experiences. Sharing leads to new perspectives and growth. Sharing is also extremely beneficial to mental health. We challenge you to learn from other peoples experiences and contribute your own at the next support group.
