Now You Know: Routine And Weight-loss

A routine can be described as a series of actions regularly followed. Another word for it can be program or protocol. The Mindful Living protocol is designed to help people develop healthy lifestyles. Routines are powered by habit. If we have healthy habits, we have healthy routines. This makes the weight-loss journey much smoother.

A healthy routine is not just about what we eat, but also when we eat. Our research has shown that patients who eat at the same time everyday have more predictable weight-loss results. These patients are routine driven. Because their actions are predictable, so are their results. They lose anywhere between 1.5 and 2.5 pounds per week on the Mindful Living protocol.

Not only do these people eat at the same time every day, but they also sleep and wake up at the same time daily. Their sleep and eating habits have formed a routine. They no longer must think about what or when they eat. They depend on the power of habit. Habit saves a ton of time in the kitchen and allows for higher quality sleep.

Having regular sleep patterns gives the body a chance to adjust and regain homeostasis. These adjustments are when your hormones lead you to a fat burning metabolism (AKA ketosis). If people do not have a regular routine they can do everything right, and still not lose.

Optimal weight-loss occurs when insulin levels are lowered and glucagon levels are higher. Its easier to reach this state when you eat and sleep and wake up at the same time daily. And of course, reduce carbs to a bare minimum. Anyways do not underestimate the power of routine. It could be the thing the gets you past your next weight-loss plateau.
