Simplicity is one of the few secrets behind a successful healthy diet. When we say simple, we not only mean the diet should be easy to follow, but also mean it should be easy to repeat. The reason this is important because our experience shows us that people who eat “boring” do really well.
In other words, people who eat the same thing over and over again every day tend to have more predictable and promising weight-loss results. These people tend to figure out the macro nutrient values they need and make eating decisions based off this information.
When eating for macro values and not for taste, you sacrifice diversity. I mean think about it. Why switch things up and risk eating too many carbs? After all you know what worked yesterday. There is no point in reinventing the wheel. Eat the same thing today and get the results you expect to on your next weigh in.
Eating the same thing daily makes cooking less of a task. Routine makes meal prepping much easier and more convenient. As a result journaling also becomes much easier to do as you already know the macro values of everything you are about to eat.
Eating the same thing every day to lose weight is a form of discipline that few are born with. We understand that eating the same thing every day isn’t sustainable for most. And we don’t want them to eat the same thing every day forever. We do think however its easier to lose weight when your meals are predictable. It is also important to remember that the weight-loss phase occurs only until you reach your target weight. After that you are in maintenance mode and can add food variety back into your life.
