Walking and Weight-loss

We all know that exercising is important when it comes to living mindful and being healthy. Often we believe that working out is limited to high intensity sessions, but there are many other ways to get in our daily exercise. Walking is a great example of a low intensity workout with a vast array of benefits. Walking can help maintain a healthy weight. A 2013 Australian study tracked the weight of 822 individuals and found that, over the course of four years, the average person gained 3.5 pounds. However, the individuals who walked to work daily only gained an average of 1.5 pounds after 4 years. Apart from the physiological benefits, it is important to note that walking has been linked to an improvement in mood. When we exercise, our brain releases endorphins. These endorphins trigger positive feelings within the body, and lead to a happier mood. Consider adding walking into your daily routine, it will make an enormous difference!
