There are numerous different types of yoga in the world. Some of them focus on stretching, while others focus on strength training. All of them however lead to mindful breathing. Yoga can increase your mindfulness which can assist in weight-loss. Mindfulness is synonymous with self-awareness. If people are more mindful or aware of what they are eating, they are likely to put better ingredients inside their body. We say this because often patients do not think about their unhealthy eating habits. Rather they let the power of habit dictate their actions. We look to reverse these unhealthy eating habits with healthy ones. Our goal is to make healthy decisions habitual and to not give them much thought. The only way we can get to this point is by practicing mindfulness.
