Updated: Sep 1, 2019

Personalized treatment plans are imperative to successful and sustainable weight-loss. Every single human being is different. Everyone has different biologicals make ups and genetics. Everyone also has different life experiences. Some folks are more likely to be health conscious because they grew up in families who prioritized health. Other who did not have such an upbringing are less likely to make healthy choices as an adult.

There are numerous factors which can lead to the onset of Obesity. For that reason we must never make blanket statements about weight-loss. Rather we must treat Obesity on a case by case basis. Reason being is what may work for one person is not promised to work for the next. Different treatment plans work better for different people. Another thing we must mention is that different people have different macro nutrient needs. At our clinic we make people get on the Body Composition Analysis (BCA) scale to calculate how much protein someone should be eating. Then we keep an eye on the lean mass via the BCA scale and make protein recommendation adjustments accordingly.

Our carb intake recommendation for people is generally under 50 grams per day. However, it is important to know that this number can vary based off of activity levels and basal metabolic rate. Meaning one person can even lose weight eating 60 grams of carbs a day while another must eat 40 to lose. There is no one rule set in stone for carb consumption. Rather mindful living principles must be followed, and carb intake will naturally decrease. It is important to get the carb intake low enough to a point where the body enters ketosis. Once this occurs, the metabolism no longer uses glucose for energy. Rather it relies on burning its own body fat as a source of energy. This is the ideal mode for safe and healthy weight-loss.
